04 July 2018

The third evening trial of the series takes place on TUESDAY July 10 and will be at Craggs Farm, Low Gill  LA2 8RB with the usual start time of 6pm - but definitely no later than 6.30pm.

The location should be well known to most regular riders but for those not certain it will be flagged from the High Bentham to Slaidburn road at the lane end and the venue is then about a mile away.

The usual format will take effect with four laps of ten sections and I've been asked to remind newcomers that we also offer a two lap class for those that might find managing to get in four laps during the evening a bit of a struggle. If you only want to be classed for two laps, then mention it when signing on. Terry the burger man has been contacted to remind him we have a trial that day and he is hoping to get there, depending on his work load at his full time job.

Now, it's unlike me, but there will not be any results available until the following MONDAY evening at the earliest. The reason is that after the trial is finished, I'm straight off to the Isle of Man for the Southern 100 and the Manx Two Day Trial the same weekend and won't be back home until the Monday afternoon. Sorry, but I'm sure you'll forgive me this one lapse in the usual rapid service available.

We also have a Sunday trial scheduled for July 29 which Robert Taylor and his crew will be organising at Anna's Ghyll, Brookhouse, a venue we have not used for a long time and which is very good. More details after the next Wednesday trial report.

And when it comes to the fourth round of this popular evening series sponsored by Inch Perfect, we will be at a new venue for the club when, thanks to the offer from Michael Batty, we will be at his land at Ghyll Farm, Bowston near Kendal subject to permission from the Northern Centre. We know this is a bit further away for the riders from the Lancashire area rather than the Lakes, but it's a particularly good piece of land that has recently undergone a lot of clearance which has produced some great sections, particularly for an evening trial. So make a date for August 15 and take the opportunity to ride a trial on land that has become available to the club.
