LAST SUMMER EVENING TRIAL IS ON ITS WAY |

Here's a reminder to all Lancs County regulars - and those who have yet to join us, it will be the fourth and final Summer round of the Birkett Motosport Series of evening trials on Wednesday, August 5.
The venue is Anna's Ghyll, Brookhouse which is on the left side of the minor road that leads to the familiar Windmills venues. It's a good place for Wednesday evening trials and was used for the first time last year, but the night was poor and so was the turn out, so here's hoping that Aug 5 turns out to be fine and sunny with an entry to match.
All the usual elements of Lancs County trials will be in place, that's four laps of ten sections, including a dead easy course as well as a conducted C/D route. Martha will be there with his catering truck and with a start time of 6pm, you'll be assured of a good evening's sport.
It has been asked if riders can turn up later than 6pm. Well, yes, but bear in mind that darkness soon catches you out and entries can't be taken much after half six. We recognise that it's sometimes difficult to get off work in time, do the best you can and we'll accommodate you the best we can. Can't say fairer than that.
The final round of the Birkett series is on Saturday afternoon, November 7. |

Dave Oswald, one of our regular evening trial section plotters, has just finished building himself a twinshock, 350 Italjet.

This is a really smart rebuild job, and he has another on the go at the moment. He reckons the drive at home is going green what with all the overspray from the aerosol can.
And for those that don't realise it or who were not around in the early 'eighties, this is the correct colour green for an Italet. |

When the contents for this website were first written, the leading article was about Lancs County riders who did well in the Scottish.
So BIG apologies to Paul Heyes, who occasionally rides our events, for not including him in the article. Paul had one of his best results ever by winning outright the Pre 65 Scottish Two Day Trial. So belated congratulations to him.

This is the new Lancs County MCC website, which has been up and running for a couple of weeks now. It was designed and is administered by Ian Beardsall, better known as Atomant on Trials Central. He offered to build the site when we enquired, but he refused to accept any payment for doing the work and instead asked Lancs County to make a donation to the SSDT charity, which this year is Cystic Fibrosis. So we are pleased to report that Lancs County have today sent a significant cheque to the SSDT Secretary Mairi Jenkins, who will forward the cheque onto the charity. Potential riders in our trial on Sunday, June 28 should note that the entries at Barkingate will be taken by Anna Rapley as her dad is on holiday and Chris Kirkbride will be handling the results. Nick Shield will be marking out the course at this popular venue. Full details can be viewed by clicking on the date on the calendar. |
