It's May and we're back into the Birkett Motosport evening series with a great turnout of 70 riders despite it being a poor afternoon with rain threatening for the duration. However, it stayed dry for the trial and we hope everybody enjoyed it. A bit of news now. Our club website is being upgraded and whilst it's in the early stages, it should be up and running fairly soon. So until then, it's not available. However, we are hoping that when it's upgraded it will be much more modern and should have lots of new information on it about the club, venues, etc. The next trial is due to be held on Wednesday evening, June 17 and we think it will be at the Windmills above Caton. We normally go to Wrayton for the second round, but it was so wet there last year and is currently very wet so we are leaving Wrayton until it's a bit drier - we hope!
We also have plans to run a Saturday afternoon "Try Out Trials" session. We are quite concerned that whilst we get good entries for our events, we think there are a number of potential riders who have a bike but are not sure of what the sport is all about, and rather than enter a trial, simply don't bother. The plan will be to mark out some VERY easy sections and to let riders try them out as they wish with instruction and guidance from some of the club riders. It will not be intimidating at all, just a chance to try out their bike and pick up some ideas about how to do it. It will be dead cheap to take part, certainly no more than a tenner, so if you know of somebody who would be interested in this, keep an eye out for a date announcement soon. And finally, we have two bikes for sale. David Braithewaite has his 2008 Beta Rev 3, which is all tricked up and has a LOAD of spares with it for £2800. call him on 01708 371379.
And Jonny Walker has a 2008 Academy Sherco 125, late 2008 for sale at £2200. Call him on 01768 774165.
