The final round of Lancs County’s popular Birkett Motosport trials takes place on Saturday at a new venue for this series, at Ringstones Lane, Low Gill near High Bentham.
Whilst this venue is new for the Birkett rounds, it has been used just once before for a Sunday trial some 14 months ago. Since then, lots of work has been carried out there to make greater use of the land.
The Birkett Motosport series is the club’s summer evening group of trials of which there have been four this past summer. This fifth round always takes place on the Saturday afternoon before Remembrance Sunday and with a start time of 1pm, should prove popular.
Parking is good at this venue and it will be flagged from the junction of Ringstones Lane with the Bentham to Slaidburn road.
The course will be the normal format of four laps of ten sections and they will generally be fairly easy. There’s also a dead easy route in these trials for beginners, youths and returnees to the sport, so it really is a good class of event for everybody except perhaps the best experts.
Chris Kirkbride is undertaking secretarial duties at this trial and he along with his colleagues will be plotting the sections as well. However, should you need to know more, phone Mike Rapley on 07788 161929 who can fill you in with any details you may need to know.
Entries will be taken at the start and all being well, catering will be available at this trial.
