Lancs County are planning a one-off new venture with a Trials Try Out Day, incorporating some basic tuition for riders that feel they would like to learn a bit more.
Whilst the majority of the riders that attend our trials are quite capable, our Wednesday evening trials have attracted a number of riders who have found them quite difficult - even though they are about as easy as trials can be!
We understand that there is some courage required to ride a trial if you have not done so in the past, or perhaps if you are unsure of your ability, so this Trials Try-Out Day is designed for those riders that would like to see what it is all about before actually riding a trial - and for those who want some basic guidance on how to ride simple sections.
It will take place on Saturday afternoon, September 5 at 2pm at the land known as Caton Moor, just below the windmills above Brookhouse, near Lancaster. We used this venue for our second evening trial this year and it has all that we will need to help folks learn a bit more.
Several dead easy sections will be marked out and there will be several club members in attendance to encourage and guide riders on how to ride the sections and for those that need it, the real basics of entering and taking part in a trial.
To cover insurance, the cost will be just £5 for the afternoon and of course you will need to bring your own bike. Don't worry if it is a knacker or even a trail bike, the idea is to guide and give advice. Simple as that.
There is no need to enter in advance but to judge how many are likely to turn up, please call Mike Rapley on 07788 161929.
We hope this is helpful to anybody who feels they would like to learn more, and if it proves successful, we'll surely run more in the future
