LATE RESULTS BUT HERE AT LAST
Sunday, 28 February 2010 21:03

Sorry guys, results won't be available from Low Gill trial until Monday night. Had to sort out a drainage problem at home and haven't got to the results yet.

Right, now it's Monday evening, about 8pm and the results have just been uploaded.

Sorry for the delay but a drainage crisis at home prevented me doing them last night as I would do normally. Trouble is, I can't use that excuse again!

It was a fantatsic entry to our first Sunday series trial of the year and that, as you well know brought its own problems. Never before have we attracted 97 riders to a Sunday trial - at least not in recent years, so thanks for making the effort. Our apologies for the queuing, but once it has started there is little that can be done so ultimately everybody has to put up with it.

Special thanks go to the observers for standing out on such a cold day, particularly the two girls at section two who were absolutely frozen. Well done to them and indeed everybody else. Thanks also to Mike Crackles for the use of his land and of course the lads who set out.

Our next trial is our national on March 13th. Entries close this Saturday so if you are eligible and planning to enter, be sharp. Following that the next Sunday trial is actually on Friday April 2, at Low Gill again but using the other venues at this location. Start time will be 10.30am.

Inevitably, there were some difficulties in interpreting the results sheets, so if you think your score is materially wrong, you can call me on 07788 161929, otherwise, consider these scores final unless you can spot an obvious mistake.

Thanks

LOW GILL FOR SUNDAY FEB 28
Wednesday, 24 February 2010 21:07

Just a reminder that we begin our Sunday series of trials on February 28 at Low Gill near High Bentham. For some reason or another folks are always ringing me as to how to get to this venue. Please look elsewhere on this website and you'll find the directions.

This trial is being set out by our normal Wednesday evening team as Nick and Diane Shield are away that weekend. However, expect it to be a good, sensible event on a piece of land that is not too arduous.

As is the norm, we will have four laps of ten sections with a hard course, a green course and a clubman course included. Start time is 10.30 and entries are taken at the start. Observers are always welcome and this week it's a large tin of Marks and Spencer Belgian Chocolate biscuits to each of the 10 observers. We have several lined up but could still do with a few more.

We can't be totally certain as the weather is still very variable, but Barrow are planning to hold last weekend's trial (21st) which they had to postpone, on Saturday afternoon, (27th) at 1pm at Lindale. If there is no snow it will go ahead.

ANGELA REDFORD IS FILLING UP NICELY
Saturday, 20 February 2010 21:39

It's Saturday evening, two weeks before the entry deadline for the Angela Redford and at the latest count we have 113 riders entered for the trial at Brookhouse Brickworks, which is the third round of the ACU Classic Trials Championships.

This figure is some way short of last year's massive number and we don't expect to reach such a total this year, primarily due to the current economic climate, but as there's still two weeks left, more entries will surely filter through.

If you are planning to ride and haven't yet entered, then get on and do so. The trial format will be the same as previous years, but Nick Shield is developing the sections so expect some changes.

There is going to be one change; we plan to ensure that riders in each class all start at the same section, to make it dead fair for everybody. But of course, with riders starting two at a time at minute intervals, one rider will go one way and the other rider the other way. Which means to achieve this, riders in a class, will not have consecutive numbers, but will be all odds or all evens. If you don't understand, we do and that's all that matters.

BOOTLE REGS AVAILABLE HERE
Saturday, 06 February 2010 14:37

The regs for the Bootle Club's fourth round of the ACU Traditional Trials Championship series are now available and to assist the club, we have included them on this site. The trial is on the Sunday immediately after our own Angela Redford Trial and makes for a enjoyable weekend.

Just click on the attachment and they should appear.
